School: General Information and Academic Administration

    Let me tell you about my host school during SEA-Teacher program.  

    I have been teaching at Anuban Lampang School for a month in Thailand. In Anuban Lampang School, there are kindergarten, and primary classes in one area. For primary classes they have two programs, namely, Mini English Program (MEP), and Normal Program. It's located in the north of Thailand exactly in Lampang City.

    Below, I'll share some information about the school that I practice teaching.

    2. Academic Support System

    

    The academic support system at Anuban Lampang School consists of 4 support systems, namely:

    There are 3 main programmes at Anuban Lampang School, namely:

1. Mini English Program
2. Gifted Math, and
3. Smart Science

    On the first day, Teacher Aoy, the head of the Mini English Programme, introduced me to some of the buildings in the school and especially the Mini English Programme. Teacher Aoy told me that I would be teaching in the MEP or Mini English Programme class. Teacher Aoy gave me two classes, MEP 4/1 and 4/2, where I had two mentors, Thai teacher Meaw and Foreign teacher Vin. Here are the pictures of the students.

    3. Teaching System

    The teaching system at Anuban Lampang School is very good, with two teachers in the classroom. One Thai and one foreign teacher work together to manage the class. The programme is very good, as almost all teachers are foreigners and almost all subjects are in English e.g. Maths, Science, ECD. That's why, this programme is very good, because students can learn real English in their daily life.

    4. Materials and Learning Sources

    Each classroom provides microphones to help teachers amplify their voices, and equips each classroom with LCDs, and computers that can make it easier for teachers to teach in class. 

    In the Maths class, there are two textbooks, an exercise book and a textbook. The textbook is used by students to see the explanation of the material, while the workbook is used for student exercises.
